Top 5 Books: Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle
Confessions, Augustine of Hippo
That Hideous Strength, C.S. Lewis
The Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius
Proslogion, Anselm of Canterbury
Top 3 Books: *Outside of assigned school reading:
(1) Confessions by Augustine of Hippo: I read portions of Confessions as a college freshman, but had never read it cover-to-cover. Augustine is one of my favorite Christian writers.
(2) The Rule of St. Benedict by Benedict of Nursia: Years ago, I read Rod Dreher’s The Benedict Option, a book that influenced my thinking about being a Christian amidst the increasingly hostile cultural conditions of the 21st-century. Since reading Dreher’s book, I’d been curious about the Rule and wanted to read it for myself.
(3) The Paideia Proposal by Mortimer Adler: I have been slowly reading through a variety of books on philosophy of education, and this was my most recent read.
