Theology: A biblical systematic theology begins with the living God who graciously reveals himself, creates all things good, sustains the world by his power, and makes himself known supremely in Jesus Christ (Gen. 1:1; Ps. 19:1; John 1:1–18; Col. 1:15–20; Heb. 1:1–3). Because “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Prov. 1:7), Christian apologetics joyfully confesses that God is the foundation of truth, reason, goodness, and hope. In presuppositional witness, the believer invites others to see that in Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:3), and that every good gift of understanding comes from the Father of lights (Jas. 1:17).
The center of this theology is Christoformity: the Spirit’s work of shaping believers into the likeness of the Son (Rom. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:18; Gal. 4:19). To follow Christ is to receive his life, walk in his love, and share his pattern of humility, obedience, mercy, purity, and joy (John 15:1–11; Phil. 2:1–11; Eph. 5:1–2). Christian holiness is therefore radiant and humane: the body is honored as a temple of the Holy Spirit, chastity becomes a form of freedom and reverence, and purity of heart opens the believer more deeply to God (Matt. 5:8; 1 Cor. 6:19–20; 1 Thess. 4:3–8).
Service is the visible shape of love. The Lord who washed his disciples’ feet calls his people to love one another as he has loved them (John 13:1–17, 34–35). The neighbor, especially the hungry, sick, stranger, prisoner, poor, and forgotten, is received as a sacred summons to mercy (Isa. 58:6–12; Mic. 6:8; Matt. 25:31–46; Luke 10:25–37; Jas. 1:27).
Hope completes and strengthens this vision. Because Christ is risen, labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Cor. 15:20–28, 58). The church lives by faith, abides in love, and awaits the renewal of all things, when God will dwell with his people and make all things new (Rom. 5:1–5; 1 Cor. 13:13; Rev. 21:1–5).
Belief in the inerrancy of Scripture?: Yes
Notes on Scripture: Inerrancy is far from dogmatic literalism. You have to study the texts in the original languages with extreme scholarly care. Some parts are allegorical, others literal, and still others poetic/mystical. I’m not espoused to Landmarkism, KJV literalism, or any similar straw man position. The Scriptures should be studied deeply, prayerfully, and in a scholarly way. If the Bible is the most important book, it’s due careful, deep, deliberate study – in the original languages, when possible.
Additional classical training: I’ve provided such training via the Kenigson Institute for Classical Education. Training in classroom management, school leadership, and school culture via ACCS conferences and teacher training events. Training in school budgeting, curriculum design, and instructional leadership from independent study.
Why I want to teach at a classical school: To glorify God and enjoy Him forever. The full measure of enjoyment is found in service. The greatest man is the least, and the least greatest.
Final thoughts: I’m a tenured professor, so I’m primarily interested in summer and remote work. I’m open to all proposals and needs that can be conducted remotely (any semester) or in-person from May-August each year.
