Summary:
This application is in support of a young man who is eager to take the opportunity to do his part to develop young men and women of character and virtue who meaningfully contributeto the world around them and take responsibility for their actions and continuous learning. He hopes that his students will become insightful thoughtful capable competent and pious young adults who will able to artfully and skillfully explain and defend their philosophies of life as well as their faith. To this the end applicant believes in developing the students soul and their mind that they may be worthy perpuators of their people and gospel of Christ.
It is often said that the purpose of classical education is to form the students soul to develop the students mind and affections and inclinations toward what is right and worthy of admiration among other attributes. While this is true, it should not be the only aim. The students encounter with things of great worth and value should inspire to make further contributions to what they encounter in a similar spirit to those who have come before them. The instructor therefore tries to structure and fashion his lessons so that the student will be able to easily recognize the principles inherent in what they learning. This could be the creativity of God inherent in the variety of the natural world, the patience required to thoughtfully consider a cogent argument or the courage to encounter the seeming contradiction of a logical syllogism.
As part of this encounter, the good teacher will then challenge and encourage the student as to the implications and relevance of this lesson and principle to their own interaction with the subject. This is learning as worship. The student encounters the truth and goodness of God in whatever form and is led to respond. His response should be relatable to those around them and to the teacher who will then help him hone and refine his work so that it will be edifying to all and contribute to their learning.
This tandem participation with the concepts should be a contributing factor to the student eventually taking responsibility for their education. Towards this end as the student increases in intellectual maturity they should be given accountability for more and progressively involved engagement in the classroom This could look like them taking a leadership in Socratic discussion groups or teaching the lesson of the day with their own lecture in mathematics. For younger students this could like helping to arrange the classroom beforehand or arranging for the collection of their own materials for a science project. In this way the student will learn to recognize the motion of the learning circle, its beginning and conclusion.
This approach to learning, that of gift its reception and integration into the students soul expressed back in the furtherance of the gift to others sums the Aristotilian teaching philosophy of the applicant shown in his resume.He has been teaching two years

Final thoughts: I have been through classical education as a student and know some of the strengths and shortcomings of both the past generation of homeschooling and living in community generally.
