Date: 12/23/2025 Position desired: Administrator, Head of School Subjects you are willing to teach:
Willing to relocate to: West Summary:
I have 15 years experience working in classical Christian education. I spent 10 years at The Ambrose School in Meridian, ID, as both a teacher and an administrator, and I have been the Head of School at Greenleaf Friends Academy for the past 5 years. In my time at GFA, I led the conversion of the school to a classical Christian school including establishing it as an ACCS member school with the intent to seek accreditation. At both schools I have overseen growth as well as the transformation of the student culture.
I have a deep love for classical Christian education and have spent the last 15 years learning its complexities. I firmly believe in the cultivation of virtue because I have seen it in the lives of my own daughters and in those of current and former students. In particular, my time at GFA has been especially formative as it required me to be able to articulate the mission and vision of cCe to a school community that was largely skeptical of it. I have been able to do that and the school has grown by 25% in my 5 years there while also becoming increasingly classical and Christian. I have led a total transformation of the school, including implementing student uniforms and a House program, turning over the faculty with mission-aligned teachers, rebranding the school including a full marketing campaign with a website remodel and marketing videos; however, of all my work at GFA, I am most proud of the transformation that the student culture has experienced and the excellent classical Christian education that the current generation of GFA students has received.
I have a handful of gifts that have served me well as Head of School. God has gifted me with a constant and measured personality; I rarely have bad days and I rarely react emotionally to stimuli. I have a passion for building, especially curriculum, programs, and faculty and admin teams. I have a gift for imagining excellence, casting vision, creating and communicating structures that others can execute on, and seeing programs and projects through to the end. I am a skilled communicator who has worked hard on my ability to articulate the majesty of classical Christian education to others in a way that is powerful and persuasive. Finally, my wife and I have a deep love for the special communal aspects of a K-12 classical Christian school, and I have a gift and a passion for building a flourishing community.
I also have a handful of weaknesses. When I do not see a clear path forward, I can be patient and slow to act to a fault. This can frustrate others who expect a quick solution to complex problems. As my wife would gladly tell you, I am also tactful to a fault. Sometimes I can be so concerned with offending others that my message gets lost in the delivery. And finally, my natural disposition is opposed to melodrama – I often joke that drama makes me break out in a rash – and this can frustrate others who traffic in high drama.

I am a classically educated Christian educator with a deep commitment to the formation of students in truth, goodness, and beauty. I am an alumni of St. John’s College and Arizona State University, where I received a Great Books education grounded in close reading, seminar-style discussion, and the integration of philosophy, literature, mathematics, and theology. This experience shaped both my intellectual formation and my conviction that education is fundamentally about cultivating wisdom and virtue, not merely transmitting information.
As a convert to the Orthodox Christian Church, my faith informs every aspect of my teaching and professional life. I understand Christian education as a holistic endeavor—one that addresses the mind, heart, and soul, and invites students to see their studies as part of their response to God’s calling. I am especially drawn to classical Christian education because of its emphasis on ordered learning, moral formation, and continuity with the Christian intellectual tradition.
In the classroom and in staff roles, I value intellectual rigor paired with humility and charity. I believe students learn best in an environment where questions are welcomed, discipline is consistent, and teachers model attentiveness, patience, and integrity. My classical training equips me to guide students through primary texts, foster thoughtful discussion, and help them make meaningful connections across disciplines. I aim to teach students not only how to think clearly and speak well, but how to love what is good and true.
I understand education and institutional work as forms of Christian vocation. Whether teaching, supporting faculty, or serving in staff roles, I approach my responsibilities with a spirit of stewardship and service. I value collaboration, clear communication, and faithfulness in both visible and unseen work, and I seek to contribute positively to the spiritual and cultural life of a school community.
I am particularly well suited to classical Christian schools that prioritize formation, tradition, and community. My background allows me to serve students thoughtfully, support families respectfully, and work alongside faculty and leadership with professionalism and shared purpose. I am eager to contribute my gifts in service to a school mission that seeks to form students who are attentive, articulate, virtuous, and rooted in the Christian faith.

Experienced classical educator and curriculum writer seeking teaching or administrative opportunities within a classical Christian school committed to robust humanities instruction and joyful formation. With extensive experience teaching Latin, literature, writing, history, and study skills to middle-school students, I bring a strong background in grammar-based language study, story-driven instruction, and the cultivation of wonder through the liberal arts.
I have developed and taught full Latin sequences through participles and beyond, emphasizing mastery of morphology, syntax, and reading skills anchored in classical texts. I integrate Charlotte Mason’s methods—including picture study, narration, copywork, and living books—into language and humanities instruction to promote attention, imagination, and long-term retention. My work includes designing cross-disciplinary lessons that connect ancient astronomy, early scientific history, and classical culture with Scripture, literature, and art.
In addition to classroom teaching, I am the author of the Invictus Classical Press Memory Guide series, a multi-volume curriculum that supports schools and families in cultivating recitation, memory work, and the arts of attention. I regularly prepare workshops and conference sessions for educators on topics such as learning styles and study habits for middle-schoolers, student formation, picture study as a tool for language acquisition, and practical strategies for building confident, capable learners in grades 6–8.
My teaching philosophy centers on nurturing virtue, curiosity, and a love of truth, goodness, and beauty. I aim to equip students with the habits that make scholarship possible: careful observation, thoughtful narration, consistent practice, and delight in well-crafted language. I value clear communication with families, collaboration with colleagues, and a school culture shaped by Scripture and historic Christian orthodoxy.
I am seeking a role in which I can continue to support classical Christian education through teaching, curriculum development, academic leadership, or a combination thereof. I welcome opportunities to serve in schools that desire rigorous academics, rich liturgical and spiritual formation, and a coherent K–12 vision aligned with the classical Christian tradition.
