Additional Experience with CCE: I have read C.S. Lewis’s Abolition of Man, Discarded Image, and other assorted writings. Chesterton’s Everlasting Man, Dante’s Inferno, and Paradise Lost, among others.

Top 5 Books: Paradise Lost
The Brothers Karamazov
The Everlasting Man
Clausewitz, On War
The Peloponnesian Wars

Top 3 Books: Walking With Spring, by Earl V. Shaffer-
I love hiking, so reading the account of the first man to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail was a wonderful time.
Zero Hour, by Craig Alanson
A fun sci-fi book where humanity finds itself hopelessly outmatched and caught up in an eons-long war with zero political leverage. I read it because it was fun and because space combat physics are complex.
Fitzpatrick’s War, by Theodore Judson
A sci-fi book on the fall and rise of a post-American empire, told through an annotated memoir. It may be the perfect intersection of sci-fi and history, in the vein of Asimov’s Foundation.

Most Influential Books: The Bible
The Lord of the Rings
The Great Divorce
The Everlasting Man
The Brothers Karamazov
Nicholas Carr, What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains
Hal Iggulden, The Dangerous Book For Boys

Belief in the inerrancy of Scripture?: Yes

Additional Information

Additional classical training: I have had no specific classical training outside self study, talking with educators, and an Arts and Aesthetics/Rhetoric class in high school.

Why I want to teach at a classical school: I want to aid in the formation of people who are willing and capable of doing good and pursuing a relationship with Christ. I want to work in an environment where the goal of education is clearly expressed and the average parent is invested in their child’s education. I want to drive students mad by ceaselessly quoting C.S. Lewis at all hours of the day. I want to work at a classical Christian school.
