Summary:
I am a Washington State certified educator with endorsements in Elementary Education and Special Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I believe teaching is more than a profession; it is a calling and an opportunity to serve God by investing in the lives of children and helping them discover their God-given gifts and potential.
My experience includes working as a certified substitute teacher, long-term substitute teacher, special education paraeducator, and student teacher. Most recently, I served as a full-year 5th-grade long-term substitute teacher, where I planned and delivered instruction, supported diverse learners, used student data to guide instruction, communicated with families, managed classroom routines and behavior, and collaborated with colleagues to support student achievement. These experiences have strengthened my flexibility, patience, communication, and ability to build meaningful relationships with students.
My special education experience has also strengthened my ability to differentiate instruction, implement IEP goals and accommodations, support students with academic, behavioral, communication, and adaptive needs, and celebrate individual progress. I believe every child is uniquely created by God and deserves to be known, valued, respected, and given opportunities to grow. I strive to recognize students’ strengths while providing the support and encouragement they need to overcome challenges.
My teaching philosophy centers on relationships, high expectations, safety, belonging, and purposeful learning. I want my classroom to be a place where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, try again, and develop confidence in themselves. I believe that when students know they are cared for and supported, they are better prepared to engage in learning and reach their potential. I also value partnering with families and working collaboratively with colleagues to support the whole child.
As a Christian educator, I seek to model Christ-centered values through kindness, compassion, integrity, patience, humility, responsibility, and service. I believe education provides an opportunity to nurture not only academic growth but also character. I want students to understand that their worth is not defined by grades or accomplishments, but that God uniquely creates them and capable of making a positive difference in the world.
I would be honored to bring my experience, passion for children, commitment to excellence, and faith-centered approach to a Christian school community. My desire is to serve students wholeheartedly, encourage them academically and personally, and create a classroom community where they can grow in knowledge, character, confidence, and faith. I see teaching as an opportunity to serve God by loving, leading, encouraging, and helping each child become the person God created them to be.

Although I have not formally taught in a Classical Christian school, my teaching philosophy aligns with many of its values. As a Christian educator, I believe in nurturing the whole child—academically, personally, and in character. I strive to create a classroom where students feel known, valued, and challenged to grow.

2.) Investing for Kids by Tanjiro Yamamoto: Investing was our summer goal for our kids this summer break. When we bought this book, I had to read it first before handing it over to the kids to read and do a presentation on Google Slides for the family. We are teaching our kids the value of money and investment

Theology: I am a Bible-believing Christian, and my faith is at the center of who I am and how I approach teaching. I believe that every child is created in the image of God and should be treated with dignity, love, patience, and respect. I believe Scripture is God’s Word and provides the foundation for how we understand God, ourselves, others, and the world around us.
As a teacher, I want my faith to be reflected not only in what I teach but also in how I serve, lead, encourage, and care for my students. I believe education should help students grow in wisdom, character, responsibility, and a love for truth while recognizing the gifts and purpose God has given each child.
Belief in the inerrancy of Scripture?: Yes
Notes on Scripture: I have known about God and the bible since I was born. I have no doubts about what it says. I might have some questions unanswered, but I have realized that the only person who knows it all is the Holy Trinity, which is God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Additional classical training: I have had membership training in church. It went indept of what our church believes in. I do not had formal training in Classical Christian education. However, my education and experience as an elementary and special education teacher have given me a strong foundation in many areas that connect with classical education, including literacy, critical thinking, discussion, memorization, and developing a love for learning. I am eager to learn more about the classical model and would welcome opportunities for training and professional development as I grow as a Christian educator.
Why I want to teach at a classical school: I want to work in a Classical Christian school because I value an education that develops the whole child academically, spiritually, and in character. As a Christian educator, I want my faith to be part of how I teach, serve, and build relationships with students.
I also appreciate the emphasis on truth, wisdom, character, and a love of learning. I would be excited to bring my experience as an elementary educator while continuing to grow in the classical approach and become part of a school community that shares these values without me having to sift through this.
Final thoughts: I am a married and mom of 3 kids, happily enjoying the fun times with them. I am passionate about teaching and genuinely care about the students I serve. My faith, love for children, and desire to help students discover their God-given gifts are at the heart of my work as an educator. I would be grateful for the opportunity to contribute to your school community, learn from others, and continue growing as a Christian teacher.
